Solar pump?
Question:
Answer:
You have a few choices. You can essentially make a heat pipe, which will move that much water. You'll need a rather large solar collector for it. The other option is to use photovoltaic cells and connect them to a motor. That will require a lot of cells, but it is probably easier than building the solar collector for a heat pipe.
Is it true? I don't know about solar pumps. Solar lighting and so many other system working with solar energy, I know. But don't know about solar pumps?
About 40 years ago I saw a unit made by an Italian company that consisted of a large flat plate collector (garage door sized) that boiled a freon-related fluid and drove a motor-pump combination. Idea was to sell it to ranchers in remote areas as a stock-watering pump. Solar replacement for the windmill. So, it existed at one time and was a viable commercial product.
