Civilization, does it really exist yet? Most put this at over 10,000 years.
The universe may not have a beginning but theory has the big bang at close to 14 billion years.
From a biblical perspective the heavens and the earth are believed to be less than 10,000 years old. Theories like the Gap theory come about because of people who force science to fit the Bible. Science's dating methods have been proved flawed time and time again for long periods of time.
