How do I build a solar panel?

Question:
It's for a science fair... a simple idea please.

Answer:
Have to agree with MSG. Unless you have the ability to grow super pure silicon crystal and possess some precision machining equipment this is best achieved with one of the kits available on the web or through Edmund's Scientific.

If you're looking to gain a lot of useful knowledge about solar energy. A great place to start is with a solar thermal experiment. Make hot air, hot water, or steam.then a useful resource is 'Sunshine to Dollars' by Steve Harris. I cook with a homemade solar reflector and Steve has many low cost, directly applicable, and serious projects in his book. His aim is to introduce people to the pleasure of energy science.

Good luck, hope this helps.
I don't know.
The materials required do not lend themselves to this. However you can buy pre-made solar panels that come in kits you can assemble. They are available at Radio shack or on line at any big electronics outlet (outpost.com)
