ACTUALLY YOU WANT YOUR LOCAL UTILTY COMPANY INVOLVED. THE HAVE TO BUY ALL THE EXTRA ENERGY THAT YOUR SOLAR AND WINDMILL PRODUCE.
Spend a whole lot more money than you would spend on utilities. This is just not practical with today's technology, unless you live a couple hundred miles from the grid. It requires huge banks of batteries that have to be replaced periodically.

yes it is best to tell electric co about it but you will have to put out the money first it is expesive but you will get paid at keast 2 X's that in 2 years. Just talk to them and see it win't hurt you at all
