Do evacuated tube solar collectors need to be repaired frequently?

Question:
and can these tubes be troublesome.

Answer:
No-they are expensive, but highly efficient, very good at maintaining efficeiency in cold weather, and as low maintanance and any other kind of passive collecting system- You should have a warrenty on the tubes, though modern vacuum tubes almost never lose seal. If you live in a cold climate, and you have the money to spend, this is probably the best choice-maximum heat gain and minimal loss even in the cold.
