Because there is no clear profit in doing so for the oil companies and others who pay the goverment its bribes
Because almost all politicians are heavy stockholders in oil companies and the company are in every pocket in DC
Because that's called socialism.
Great question. One I really cant answer. I think that our government officials benefit from all the oil sold. They are shareholders of the benefiting companies.
