Do you think I should keep my ti-83 plus for algebra 1 or sell it and invest in a ti-84 silver?
Question:
Answer:
silver has much more memory, and if you are eventually going to use it for more and more advanced mathematics, the silver is most likely the way to go.
Most any calculator will suffice for Algebra 1 their are not many things you need a calculator for in that class but if you think u will need a better one in the future its really whether u want it now or than
go 4 the latest technology man.anyways u will have to buy the higher version someday ...so it better be now or never...
Get a ti-84. You're definetly gonna need it later.
heyy i'm a freshman in high school and i use a TI-83 plus! just keep your ti 83...i'm going into geometry as a sophmore so i'll just keep using the calculator i have. maybe once you get into calc/trig you could invest into a ti-84.
you will need a graphing calulator in high school so keep the one you have and get the awesome one in high school
I have learned throughout my math degree, that even though I thought I needed a graphing calculator, i really really didn't.
I had one stolen from me, & then i went out & got another one. Then that one was stolen & i was too bitter to get another one. I'm doing great without my TI-83, so i highly highly doubt, that you need an ti-84. Silly !!
What I am trying to say - is that I haven't needed one throughout my university degree. I really don't think you need one for high school. The extra features, you absolutely will not need. & would probably only hinder your learning from the shear fun of a new calculator (I know that answer was geeky)... I like new calculators. Sometimes they are fun??!!
It depends how far in math you want to go. I'm currently in Pre-calc and a basic statistics class. My Ti-84 works fine, but many of my friends have 83's that work fine. the only main difference is the amount of memory they contain. Most of the people I know haven't used the extra amount, and that includes people I know in Calc and college. I know people in college math classes that are using 83's. It's a personal choice, and it basically boils down to what one you want and what one you're comfortable with,
