Question:
As a beginner, I'm undecided on whether to buy a cheap violin or a higher quality handmade one. What's really the impact on my learning based on my choice to buy a cheaper one? What grades will both be able to take me up to? Should I make an investment on a good one to last me longer or buy a cheap one and upgrade along the way? Any advice or suggestions to offer?
Answer:
Go to your music store and ask about their student line instruments and check to see if they have a rental-purchase plan. If you are a beginner, you want a good quality instrument (not cheap but not expensive) to learn on, but in case you decide that you don't want to continue you don't want to have invested a lot of money in an instrument.
After a year of lessons you can decide to step up to a better quality instrument. Like anything else when that instrument comes into your possession it is considered used and you will seldom get back what you paid for it.
Musician, instrumental music director.
you should see first if you like playing the violin with a cheap one then if you like it, you can upgrade to a high quality one
try a Bianca violin. it's a nice violin, cheap, and made for beginners
