What do u think, investing in shares is a better option or investing in real assets?

Question:
investing in shares, debentures, stocks or investing in real estate, land, gold etc.

Answer:
Well I'd certainly say don't bother investing in buy to let properties anymore.

Sorry, but 'it depends'. Do you want high income or high capital growth? How often are you intending on buying and selling? What is your attitude to risk? I would say investment companies are a good way to spread the risk. Some can give annual return of 50%
my plans

1. invest in real estate
2. invest in gold

during my lifetime real estate has been the best investment, gold is the same price now as 30 years ago,and stocks and shares for me have been a disaster.
REITs. (His father was a house and his mother was a share)
Real estate is difficult to invest in. You have to know the laws, you have to know something about business, and if you're not renting out the land for cash flow you're not really "investing" in it, you're gambling on capital gains. Renting takes a lot of time to do, it's basically a second job.

Land is real estate.

Gold is an awful "investment." It doesn't do anything, it just sits there being gold. The price fluctuates, and generally paces inflation over the long term, but that's not much to write home about.

Stocks are the way to go by a long shot. You're putting money into companies that actually do something, make cash, and return it to shareholders. Also, investing in stocks takes far less time and effort than renting real estate.

Go for stocks.
Shares are a gamble, and you are at risk of losing money, so I would suggest they are a no-no.

House prices have risen in a consistent manner over the decades, so have made good investments. When house prices were high seven years ago, we were advised that a crash in the housing market was inevitable. We went ahead and bought a house any way, and the value has doubled in that time. Also best to research the area where you wish to buy. We didn't , but were lucky that there was a lull in prices in our area when we bought , followed by an increased demand for the properties a year or two later. Although our home increased more than average in value, I think all of UK has seen house prise rises, and therefore been a good investment.

Certain antiques can realise good profits if purchased and kept as investment, though you have to know what you are buying.
Shares, everything else only has value because companies buy it to make money, companies will not buy for more than they can return over the long term so shares will always outperform other asset classes.
