Question:
I started funding my 401k back in 1999. I received a booklet from (M- )giving me several choices for investing my money. I selected my company stock because of the incentive of getting 10% of my investment matched at the end of the year. This was disclosed under the company stock plan. I have not recieved any bonus match. I called( M-) and the rep. said that I was sent the wrong blooklet! I think that I should be compensated even though they sent the wrong information to me. I made my investment choice based on what I thought was valid information. Where can I go for help in solving this problem?
All 401k's are regulated and controlled by the IRS, but before you go there, they have an accountant. call them and see if they can help-remind them you will go to the IRS. I hope you have a copy of the election you made in 1999.
