the reason i ask is because myself and my fiancee just made a wise investment and spent the money we were saving for a avg wedding and paid down on a HOME. I definately think this was a better choice but now i was wondering could we just invite a few friends over to our new home and have a small private wedding/ house warming party. Does anyone have any ideas or know anyone who has combined the two? any creative ideas out there. Dont want to spend anymore money and we want to be married like weeks into getting moved in? please help america i know u guys always come through?

First of all, congratulations on buying your first home. I think having a small wedding at your new home would be lovely. Your family and friends would be honored to be invited.
You wouldn't even need to call it a house warming party. Everyone will bring a wedding gift anyway.
I went to a small wedding at the groom's parents' house recently and it was really fun. Family members pitched in to help with preparing food. Everyone ate and had drinks afterward. Loved it!
