Havea rank of 1932 in IIT. Confused whether to opt 5 yr Mtech in Chemical eng.or Civil Btech in IITM. Plz advc

Question: Would like to know the scope of Dual degree Chemical eng. courses in IIT. Should I go for B.tech Civil intead. The subjects for Chemical looks interesting. However does Chemical eng. have good scope. How's the placement? Plz give response quickly.

My sister has got 1941 rank in IIT and everyone have advised her to take Btech civil at IITM and say that chemical is only useful if u wanna do higher studies.
