Qualification for MBA.. is Diploma enough?
Question:
Answer:
Many universities offer MBA programs now, including "executive MBAs" that accelerate the rate of the learning so you can continue to work. (You go on nights and weekends and online.) If you go the online route, make SURE the program is nationally accredited. For examine, the University of Phoenix's online program is nationally accredited by North Central but many others are not.
Historically, no, you'd have to get into the application process by having to justify what you do is a business and why you have business experience. But..all that has gone out the window. In case you haven't noticed, you have all these MBA online programs now they're advertising on on TV. They want your money! In the application process they still ask all those questions, but it's kinda BS because they're going to let you in no matter what because they want your tuition $. The online programs have changed the whole equation. You should be able to get into just about any MBA program anywhere now. Try it, and if you have problems, keep looking around. Somebody will take you, the online programs certainly will. I get emails from Tiffin University all the time about MBA and I only asked them about their program once. These places really want your tuition $ and will be flexible in what their standards are to get you into the program.
When I was entering an MBA program, I had to take a number of "leveling" courses because I did not have an undergraduate major in business.
You should be able to find specifics online in the Graduate School Catalogs of the schools in which you are interested. Each school will have its own requirements.
Unfortunately, if you get your MBA without any work experience, you price yourself out of the job market. Companies have to pay you more than you're worth because of your degree, so they hire someone without an MBA instead, or they hire one of your classmates.
The best course for business-minded folk (and has been for several years) is to get your undergrad degree done, work for a few years in a business environment, then go back and get your MBA. This shows you have some practical experience and staying power.
