International MBA programs?

I was wondering what the advantages are in completeing an MBA degree in a foreign country and if it matters if the school in which I will receive the degree is an international school or a "local" (i.e. - University of Hamburg vs. Webster's University based in Geneva). If anyone could get back to me about this, I would greatly appreciate it.

It matters.There are plenty of MBA programs out there but not all are well regarded. You would be looked on more favourbly with an MBA from INSEAD in Europe than from Anytown University.

The advantage is that an employer will know that you are serious about internationalization, and you may have opportunities for assignments abroad which you might otherwise not get. Given the two you mention, employers would generally prefer the University of Hamburg, which is a respected institution, rather than an unknown school - I apologize if Webster's is a school in the U.S. with which I am familiar, but even in the U.S., it is not a name which is recognized beyond, perhaps, a limited region.

You learn more variety in styles of management. Buisnesses may work very well in the county you go to, or they may work very poorly. You will learn things to do and things not to do you might not nessisarly think of in America. Plus all in all, it will be illuminating as a life experience and make you a better person.

Is it a joint MBA program? I went to Towson University and they had a program where you got the B.S in Buisness from them and the MBA from the Univ of Poland.
