Get a Master's degree or get a 2nd Bachelor's degree?
Question:
The scenario: I have a Bachelors in Finance & so should I obtain an MBA or should I take a 2nd degree in Art (something new that I have never learnt before). In my opinion, having 2 different degree will make me a more well-surrounded person; but having an MBA will make my parents/relatives think differently of me.
Answer:
i agree with what's already been said here. i think you should pursue a master's degree. it will make you so much more employable. an MBA is a really good degree to get. however, i think you should think about maybe taking a year or two off and pursuing your interest in art. i was in your boat right after i graduated - i wanted to pursue another field entirely. but now that i've waited a few years, i think i'm finally ready to pursue a master's in my field. you'll make the right desicion. good luck to you!
Having a broader education is never a bad thing, but in terms of employable qualifications an MBA is a good option. You can always broaden your knowledge with reading or study into the humanities outside of a formal course or through short night classes that exist in most places.
I would recommend pursuing a master's degree. Not only does a master's degree boost your appeal to employers, you will also be able to increase your salary by finding a better job with a higher position.
The best thing you can do it get a job. Then later, go back and get a MBA. Employers want EXPERIENCE, not just degrees. Or do you just want to be a "professional student" all your life?
If you really wanna be expert and specialised in finance, you should go for a master's degree. If you have other interest and skilled in that area will lead you to not only brighter future, but a happier life, you should go for 2nd degree. When considering this, not only we look at money or the future prospect, we should also consider what we really want to achieve in our life in terms of emotional and actualisation needs. Afterall, we are just ordinary humans with emotions. The decision will depend on how you weight them...
