What do people think about Academics (University lecturers)?

Its a good career with a decent salary. Whats not to like?
From my personal experience many are self-opinionated, boring, they have a fountain of knowledge but lack competency to apply the same. Not all are like this!
Depends on the lecturer! some are fantastic others are a waste of space. 24 is a little on the young side probably.
If you love your subject then lecturing in it, I would guess, would be a very rewarding experience. I view University lecturers with great respect. They research their subject all their lives seeking to gain further knowledge in it. I reckon you'd be doing yourself proud by becoming an academic.
