I have a degree in Marketing and MBA in Bus Mgmt. How do i get experience so employers will hire me.?
Question:
Answer:
In spite of the fact that you are highly educated, you must still interview to get the job, right? Do you interview well? How are your communication skills? Your people skills? Do you display a pleasing personality or arrogance? Education is gold, but personality and the right attitiude are key to getting the job every single time! Good luck!
Being a Post grad (MBA), you should not be asking this !
How would U get experience before working anywhere ?
(Yup. U can fake . but that, as I said would be fake and doesn't make sense...)
I know how frustrating it would be to be unemployed (I too was :( ... for some time) ...
My suggestion is... Just keep cool... Be strong and never give up...
Dont be desperate in ur search... Ur desperation would show off in the Interviews...
Be positive and dont worry .
that spl job offer which U have to get,
is on its way !
Meanwhile work on ur strengths, and Interests ...
Minimise ur weaknesses ! (SWOT)
All the Best...
I like what Fifa said about staying positive & confident and not seeming desperate in the interviews. With all of that education, I'm sure you're working hard in your job search as if it is your full time job (spending 8 hours a day job searching / interviewing). As he said, stick with it and it will fall in place.
I can empathize with you, though in that it seems like a tough time for Marketers right now. I know of a couple of people looking for jobs in your field, and my employer just laid-off a bunch of marketers as well.
One potential option to consider might be to specialize in a lower level type position to get working, prove yourself, and work your way up from there. Maybe do so with a company you’d like to be at long term, as opposed to a better position in a lesser company. As a PM, I'm not all that familiar with your field (so sorry if my references are off), but maybe you're seeing a lot of jobs out there for Product Development or Graphic Design. You might have to spend some time familiarizing yourself with a specialty, maybe take a crash course or something, but it might get you in. If you take this approach with that top company that you've been eying, maybe in a year you'd be promoted to where you want to be today.
My two cents! I wish you the best.
