Advice for getting MBA degree!!?
Question:
Answer:
Supposedly all MBAs are equivalent. Personally I doubt it. A huge part of the MBA is case studies and learning from your fellow students. That requires face to face time.
The thing about the MBA is that it's not an enabling degree. It's not like getting an MD before you can practice. The MBA is a great degree to help you along, but it guarantees nothing. I was looking at the Wharton Exec MBA, and it was great - travel to SF and Penn, international studies, even arranged a private talk with the President of India, and the best business school in the world. But it was $140K for the program. That's a lot - about twice as much as the fully-employed program that I eventually chose.
In your position, where you have experience but you don't have a corporation willing to pay $140-160K for an executive MBA, I highly suggest you look into the fully-employed MBA. It lets you work full time while attending classes part time, and is "only" around $60-90K.
