Any advice on a Library Science degree?
Question:
and I just want some more advice on the process or any personal experiences. Ideally I would like to attain Master's in Library Science with a concentration in Archives & Records Management (since that's what I want to do career-wise) and hopefully a dual-degree (in German or another discipline). Any librarians or grad students out there with advice on admissions/statements of purpose or personal experiences with programs? What's the job market like for someone with a library science degree or a dual-degree?
I already have done a lot of general research, so I don't need any of that. I'm very serious about accomplishing this goal, and also kind of excited!
Answer:
The Univeristy of S. Mississippi has an excellent LIS degree as well as many classes in archives. This might be a good school for you to look at. The program is accredited by the ALA and I am just finishing up my Master's from here and highly reccomend this school. Also, I am doing my degree entirely online which this school offers.
