How do you break the practice of micro management to embrace a new process of macromanagement?

Question:
I am currently in an organization who has been operating independently for 5 year. With global expansion, the current organizational structure needs streamlining to adapt to the organization's international standards.

My challenge is , how to change the current operations perspective of my team. Especially since I am new in their organization and I have come from a more organized and structured company.

I do not want to compare but how do I position the "change" to be positive to the grouop who, by thier won standard feel that thier process works.

Btw, I have no MBA... and I;m 31 and so I am asking. This is high level management that i am about to embark in and I want to succeed.

Answer:
It is about telling your story.

You are not just an actor but you are also the director of this story

1) Bring in rapid change in the direction you wish to take, but make sure that there are no Heart Patients

2) There will be lot of insecurity, resentment, apprehension, dissatisfaction and such...

3) Now go at a slower pace, a pace you had originally envisioned.

As some body said do all the bad at once and all the good in increments/installments.
Too late. You have to start fresh.
