What does a financial advisor do, and is it a good career?

Question:
I want to help people manage their money better, is this a field that can do it?

Answer:
Sounds like you want to be a financial planner. Financial advisors usually work in seperate account management, which basically means they manage stock portfolios for individuals, companies, etc. A financial planner is more broad in scope and sounds like what you'd be interested in from what you said. They help individuals allocate money into different types of investments, help with insurance, and a whole lot more. If you're interested, you'll want to get a Finance degree from a University.

if you have common sense and are willing to study then yes, i'm sure anyone could do it. also i would imagine you need good business ethic.

do it! (then you could give me discount)
