Is a financial advisor a good career?

Question:
Wedell and Reed offered me a position I would like some professional opinion on the career of financial advisor.

Answer:
This is a good company with a good business model. You can earn as little or as much as you desire. You will be working with a wonderrful group of people, your clients, and will find it very fulfilling. If you make the choice, do so with commitment. Get totally immersed in the community, and you will have a great career. Work Hard and Good Luck!
The career has many challenges.
Some of your duties may include
*execute business development strategies to attract and acquire new clients
• Analyze clients’ financial needs, goals, sensitivity to risk and investment horizon
• Advise clients regarding the advantages and disadvantages of different investment strategies
• Create, implement, and continually review, a plan that includes strategies designed to help clients pursue their long-term goals
• Act as the steward of the client assets and achieve client satisfaction and loyalty through excellent service.
Are you motivated to go after the business? (cold call, hold seminars, follow up consistently etc etc.)
There is a continual growing demand for this career field but more importantly than just money and status; ... You have to ask yourself :: Do I see myself in this position carrying out the duties that my job entails and (more importantly) Does it excite me and get my heart pumping? Without the Natural Enthusiasm, it could be just another job.
i think so if you like it than choose it
There are a lot of advisors out there. I don't think there are a lot of good advisors. So I say yes if you are good. Just be ready for a lot of competition.
It's an excellent career if you're good at it. People will always need someone to teach them about money, and to help them make important financial decisions.
Make sure that this career move is for a long-term situation. Being a financial advisor is hard work and there a re a lot of sacrifice in the beginning. Once you get past the "ramp up" frame, it could prove to be a successful career ... that's if you are ethical, you have a desire to help people, and your values match the career.

If you are an energetic person with a drive to succeed and don't need a lot of motivation, I suggest that you look at several companies before making a final decision. I'll leave it at that. Best of luck!
