Question:
I have been looking for a job for the past couple months...just graduated college. I have seen a few of the big house brokers, but I have found over and over again that Northwestern Mutual is one of the strongest and highest rated companies. I just want to get people's point of view, pref. someone who does business with them
Answer:
The side of NMFN that I've had contact with is through their insurance. My experience with their financial advisors depends on the person I've worked with, no different than any other insurance agent.
They are one of the few mutual insurance companies left, and they seem to be very honest about what they do and how they do it. I had interviewed for them once, but bailed out when I realized that their frontline agents are paid on a commission-only basis. Not good when I needed a steady income to pay the mortgage.
Good luck.
