How do I find a trustworthy tax accountant and financial advisor in my area?

Question:
Experience with new small business owners.
Heart of a teacher, not a salesman.

Answer:
I work as a tax accountant and I always tell people to ask friends and work acquaintances for references. Find someone in a similar situation who is happy with their person and find out who they use.
Word of mouth is usually the best way. Have you joined your local chamber of commerce? You can probably get a lead there.
Learn how to ask the right questions...Also learn a little bit about what is needed. You need to in order to protect yourself, your money and your family. go to your local library... you're a teacher so you know how to research
Where is your area? I know some good people in my area - but.they are in my area - not your's...

Good Luck!
