Where can I find out if my house is up for sale at the foreclosure auction?
Question:
Answer:
All foreclosures in my county are listed at the local court house. Some counties have this on line..Also, you should call your mortgage company to see if it went to auction..You can stop foreclosure if you come up with the money in default or find a buyer..Best of luck...
There is a Website that lists Foreclosure auctions. You can check to see if your home is listed there.
Please click on my screen name (money) then click on my 360 profile page and look near the top of that page. Make sure you go to the “Real Estate” page on that Website, and look on the right hand side of the page where it says "Live Auctions". (I can't post a direct link here because posting a link in an answer is against the rules).
If you're worried about a sheriff sale of the property, then you probably know you're behind in payments. If you're that far behind in payments, your mortgage company has probably hired an attorney's office to pursue the foreclosure against you.
Calling the lender's attorneys can be one source of information about the property. They will know exactly when the sheriff sale of the property is, and can forward your request for a postponement directly to your bank.
Alternatively, you can call the county sheriff's department, as they are usually the ones who handle the foreclosure auctions. They maintain lists of when properties have sold or are going up for sale, and can give you the date you are looking for.
If you need more time to save your home from foreclosure, you may want to try getting the auction date postponed, so you have a chance to refinance or sell the home to a private investor or friend/family member.
But try those two places first: the lender's attorneys, and the county sheriff department. They are the ones who will be handing the sale most directly, so they will know the exact date of the sheriff sale.
Good luck.

According to the law all properties held for public auction are to be listed in the local newspapers 30 days prior to the auction. All sales are public domain and cannot be sold unless there is public notification.
county website and search the "notice of foreclosure " or "notice trustee sale" or you could look at the notice stuck to your front window or tree on your property.
