Mortgage Co. reporting delinquency as foreclosure. What can I do?
Question:
One shows a delinquency of 90 days, another shows 120 days late, and the other shows a foreclosure. My home is not in foreclosure.
Answer:
You need to call your lender immediately. You can file a dispute through the credit bureau, but check with your lender first. You may have bounced checks or the wrong account may have been credited with your money. I have dealt with a few people who didn't believe their account was in foreclosure, but since they never opened their mail, they just figured everything was fine. Call the lender and find out. If your account is delinquent, you can be sent to an attorney for foreclosure.
Not that you know of yet...you better call your lender
contact countrywide and find out why..
If you have canceled checks or receipts if you paid cash, then you can get those removed as you have proof that your acct is not in foreclosure etc..
It might be. foreclosure is a process involving many steps. I would suppose that it begins with the lender deciding to foreclose. It ends with the auction, but begins long before that.
Dispute this claim with the all three credit bureaus. Countrywide will have to explain to them within 30-45 days. If they don't comply it will have to be removed. This is the most accurate method.
