What is the title name of an attorney that handles foreclosures?

Question:

Answer:
Real estate attorney.

In some states a foreclosure is really a trustee sale and a trustee will handle the process. Many trustees are attorneys.

The easiest way to know who handles the bulk of the deals in your area is to look at the Notices Of Default (NOD) in your county. Each notice will have a contact person for that NOD. Those are the people who are handling the transactions in that area. If a name comes up a lot then you know they handle most of the business.
You want a real estate attorney. These attorneys are more familiar with the process. If you are losing your property remember you will have 6 months to a year to live in the house without making payments. This is called a redemption period which gives you time to get refinanced and back on track. Do not abandon the property or the redemption period jumps to 30 days. Also the amount you owe will be calculated on an interest daily x days in foreclosure x from the sale date. The longer you wait to refinance the higher the payoff will be.
I think he/she is just called a Real Estate lawyer, like a lawyer who defends you in court is called a Defense Lawyer and the one who tries to put you in jail is referred to as a Prosecutor.
In the yellow pages look under Attorney's/ Real Estate.
The one who does all the real estate work - make sure all the documents are ready, etc, etc. They call him/her a legal aid. The one who shows face at closing they call Esq.
Any Real Estate Attorney can handle a forclosure. Do you need to be referred to a good one?
