There is a minimum amount of time required for the notices and other action.

Delays are common. Some of the delays happen when the borrower takes specific actions. Other delays come from the lender trying to work with the borrower, from title issues or filing issues and other things related to the legal process.

What you should do as the borrower is ask an attorney. Even if the process should take a specific amount of time there might be issues or reasons that the notice is defective or ways to settle without a full blow foreclosure on your record ('deed in lieu' is one).
