There are many that focus on foreclosure.
Most do not 'help people'. They invest and the sellers who are in foreclosure can many times be better off.
Rarely is it a good idea for an investor to work with a seller in foreclosure plus allow the borrower to remain in the property.
If someone can not afford their home (for what ever reason) and the problem is not a one-off event then it is best for the borrower to lower their housing costs. Selling and moving to a less costly home is the point.
Investors can help but they will only do so when it makes sense for the investor. The investor has money because they invest wisely. Some of the time a foreclosure can not be fixed as the profit is not there for the investor. If there is no profit then it would be called charity rather than investing.
Check the section of the paper where people advertise that they buy for cash. Also expect that many investors will want to try a short sale. This is where a lender accepts less than they are owed. It can be a valid solution for some borrowers. See the articles below for more info on the foreclosure process.
