What to do when foreclosure sale happens?
Question:
Answer:
Nancy, first of all I'm sorry to hear you're having to go through this. If your home hasn't already been sold, then you may be surprised at the number of ways you can save your property or at least minimize the damage done to your credit. Your options depend on too many factors to go into here, but feel free to contact me and I'll review them with you.
If the sale has already occurred, then I suggest that you exit gracefully, not damaging the property as many disgruntled foreclosure victims do. Why lower yourself to that level of behavior?

move out...its over...
From your question, I do not know how far along you are in any foreclosure proceeding. However, unless you find a way to pay your outstanding deficiency and convince the lender to continue along with you, start preparations to move elsewhere. Foreclosures can be lengthy processes, sometimes up to 18 months in length, until all necessary notices are given, a deficiency judgment entered, and a sheriff sale scheduled.
make sure that you have all of your belongings out by the date that you are told. You have already lost your house.
