Often you can contact the county where you want to find that information and they will either give it to you or give you the website to find it on. When you pay those guys on TV you are paying for free information, Im glad you realized that early!

I would check with your County Tax Collector-Assessor,and see if anybody is delinquent on their property. Now I don't know if such an animal as "FREE" still exists,but you can ask.
You can go to the capital or city hall's tax division to get a list.
