Inflation Skyrockets, Foreclosures the worst in 50 years, only 19% believe America on the right track.?

Question:
Have your read the news today? Inflation Skyrockets, Foreclosures the worst in 50 years, only 19% believe America on the right track. What do you think. After 6 years of the Bush Administration is it still 'Clinton's Fault?'

Answer:
The economy isn't completely under the control of any president, so I don't think it's totally anybody's fault. Personally, I'd say Bush's policies will hurt me a lot more a few years down the road when China comes to collect our nation's gazillion dollar debt and someone has to pay up.

Add - In response to "Slim Whitman"...borrowing money from social security to give the appearance of paying off our debt doesn't count for reducing our debt. It's a cheap financial trick. Check your facts. By borrowing from social security contributions the "deficit" reportedly went from $413 to $238 billion. Sounds nice, but this money still needs to be paid back. It is a debt. When unemployment is low, social security gets more paid into it. This makes the deficit appear to go down. There are also other factors conveniently left out of the budget analysis released by our administration.

The total federal deficit at the end of 2006 was in the trillions.

Thanks for the tax cuts.
I think you should investigate all those who have been foreclosed on and see how many credit cards they were racking up, see how many vacations they may have gone on, where they were dining out and if they were shopping clearance racks. Mortgage payments are ridiculously high I know I have one but it is priority to me and I have have to eat raman noodle because something else happens like a vehicle breaking down or something then so be it. I know what credit card debt can do been there done that and well I live in a 1 family income home with 5 children and yes it is not easy but it is possible to conserve so that the mortgage payment is made. If for some reason my husband lost his job he would go work double shifts at Walmart or Mcdonalds to serve our needs.
It doesn't matter who is occupying the White House.
The ones with the gold make the rules and most heavily influence our lives: The owners of the (private) Federal Reserve System.
Foreclosures are related to pisspoor subprime lending practices. A good friend who is a mortgage lender said the subprime lending practices put a short term hurt on the market. She expects a turn around in the market in 08' and she indicated new banking regs has gone a long way restricting the subprime practices..

Look, we have 4% unemployment, this is the lowest it has been in 50 years, we have 2% inflation, and interest rates as low as they have been in 50 years. I lived through the Carter malaise, double digit inflation and double digit interest rates. Consumer credit is fairly well under control.

We do have a large deficit due in large part to purchases from overseas of crude oil and refining products.

We need to reduce the amount of these products we import. We need to explore and exploit areas in our country, we need to build up our refining capacity, we need to put the ecomarxist lobby on notice they are done. We need 4 gasoline blends not 42 seasonal blends.

Bush's fault? Frankly sir, the tax cuts have reduced the deficit in 5 yrs from the post 9/11 high to a net surplus in 2009.

That said, if the immigration crap passes all bets are off. We will see massive increases in spending to handle the suck to south of the border.
Gee what poll did that come from? CBS or CNN. Ask the guy out in the street true questions, not questions gear to get a poor answer and you will find a whole different answer then 19%. The Foreclosures are not due to the Pres it is the Homeowner buying into ARM and having a balloon payment.
The Wall St. Journal and NBC conducted a poll that says most Americans are unhappy with the direction of our country under Bush. When Bush adm. says 4% unemployment I question if this isn't more "cooking of the books".
are those the same 19% that still support george bush??
