Foreclosure Help! I am going through a divorce, my ex has moved out of the hse, haven't heard from her?

Question:

in addition her lawyer says she hasn't heard from her. The home was up for sale, but she refused to agree to any repairs so...Apparently she wasn't paying the mortgage bc now the home is in foreclosure. I don't speak with her (except court) and then out of the blue recieve foreclosure papers. I want to know what are my options to try to rid myself of this home? I don't make enough by myself to pay the mortgage. The mortgage broker said I can try to refinance and get her name off (at the judges discretion). Any help is appreciated. any companies to try to refinance with. I am in Illinois.

i hate to be heartless. but drop it like a hot potato. unless there is a ton of equity on the house. if not. let it go. there is no use getting bend out of shape on this, if you dont have enought to cover mortgage payment

Once the house is in foreclosure, it's tough. It belongs to the mortgage company. Unless you can come up with amount to save it, you're pretty much screwed. That's the bad part about partnerships and marriages.

Even if you try to pay part, it won't work. Once a house is in foreclosure, it's an "all or nothing" deal. You could ask friends and family for financial assistance. If you save it this time, what happens next month? It's gonna go on your credit again. You might could sell it, quickly, to one of those mortgage brokers. Get's it out of your name, but you still have the nasty ding on your credit.

Dump it, dump her. The black mark on your credit will prolly take longer to heal than your broken heart. That's the SORRY part!
