How soon after a foreclosure sale do you have to move?

My cousin's house is up for foreclosure auction in a few days. when does she have to leave property?

Depends on your state but its normally 3 days. If you are not out they have to post on your door to leave. You have 20 days from then and if you are not out the sheriff shows up and kickes you out.

Now if the bank buys back the property your cousin should be dealing with the bank right now. Saying if you win the sale I will leave the house clean and not trash it. You would be amazed how much damage people do to a house when they move out after a foreclouser they could do 50K in damage. Ive seen banks pay up to 1000-5000 to get you to leave it nice and to pay for your moving costs (its an investment for the bank). They give you a check to leave it nice. This should be negotiated before. But if somebody outbids the bank, which is rare you dont get that deal anymore.

The bank doesnt offer this but it can be negotiated before foreclouser.

Good Luck to your cousin, but your cousin should be on the phone with the bank every day until foreclouser.
