Not anymore in Florida under a chapter 7
Possibly under a chapter 13 you may where you restructue debts
no - and particularly not in todays market..

you need to homestead this property to protect it...then if you file bankruptcy...it is protected.

good luck :)
NO, but it may change the auction date and give you a little more time and no you can't homested it and file bankruptcy and save your home. The lender is still going to foreclose and your still going to loose your home unless you can make up all back payments and fees.
Homesteading and bankruptcy won't save teh house, only paying your mortgage will do that. The bank owns it, and they are taking it back unless you repay them as you said you would.
I had a lender tell me recently that it's easier on your credit to have a foreclosure than a bankruptcy. Ask an attorney or an accountant to get some expert advice. My recommendation would not be to file bankruptcy unless you KNOW that you'll be able to keep the house. If all you're doing is stalling the foreclosure then you'll lose the house and also have a bankruptcy on your record.
