Foreclosure specialist?
Question:
Answer:
A lot of people do this type of work from home or in an office. It will depend on what services you are providing the clients, though, to determine how easy it is for you to manage.
If you're helping buy/sell properties, then you'll need a real estate license to act as anyone's agent. You'll also need to be a broker or work for a broker in order to ensure that there is proper oversight and all the laws are being followed, etc.
However, if you are talking about just doing loss mitigation work, there are no license requirements in most states, although you should check with the states that you plan on doing business in. Some states have new regulations, as well, so do your research.
In terms of being scams or not, you have two options. First, you can work for a company that you trust and do the best that you possibly can within their structure. This might be a good place to start learning the industry and how people are able to stop foreclosure in various ways.
Second, you can start your own business and work for yourself. That way, if it turns out to be a scam, it's your fault, but you can change it, since you control your business. If you want to help homeowners in foreclosure, and you can't trust anyone else not to be a scam, then all you have left is yourself. Depending on how much you trust yourself to be honest with people, you should consider doing it on your own.
Good luck.
