How do I go about figuring out if the foreclosed home has unpaid taxes from prior years? I live in Dallas, Texas, wanted to know before going to the auction. Thanks.
You can order a tax certificate from Title. Which by the way you should order Title before purchasing, because there may be other liens on the property, which once you own will be liable for. Otherwise, you can go to the counties tax assessors office or on line and look at tax payment history. Good luck. Do ALL your homework!
