Should the government bail out people who are facing foreclosure on their homes?

Question:
Just wondering what your opinions are ...
Nope, they screwed themselves.
YES! If the US Government can bail out multi-million and multi-billion dollar corporations with Corporate Welfare, why shouldn't they help out those who REALLY need it? In 2006 alone, the US government gave out 92 BILLION dollars in Corporate welfare. If you started a business and it failed, would the government bail YOU out? NO! 92 BILLION dollars could buy 262,857 houses valued at $350,000.00 each. If we can help the most fortunate in our country, why can't we help the LEAST FORTUNATE? Why are these Corporate giants being supported on the backs of hard working American tax payers?
No. If they bail out people in forclosure with their homes, what happens next, bail out people who are late on car payments, or credit cards? If someone can't afford the house they bought, I feel sorry for them, but I'm not sure why I, and other taxpayers should pay for THEIR mistake.

If the Feds are going to bail people out, what incentive is there for banks to control who they lend to, or for people to manage their money? You only make $15,000 a year, well, sure you can buy a $350,000 home. The mortgage company won't care, because if it looks like you will default, the government will refinance the mortgage, which pays off the company, so they don't have to worry about it. The whole thing makes me sick. This isn't what the government was designed for.

IF YOU COULDN'T AFFORD THE HOUSE, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT IT!!
Simple answer--no! People need to learn of something called "self-responsibility". If you want the government to control your life--move to China.
No, the best thing to do is to let the market correct itself. Government intervention is only going to make things worse. Plus, what lesson would those that weren't responsible enough to pay their bills learn? That the government will just bail them out if they mess up. Where's the responsibility in that?
Predatory lending

These are hard working families with kids

Can you think of anyone more deserving of help than our own citizens who were taken advantage of.

I would rather see the $50 billion Bush is asking for Iraq go to these families and help our own people in our own Nation

They keep talking about how good the economy is doing -

well

There are some homeless people now who might not think so!
Why not, the bail out people who are too lazy to work for a living.
Well, it mainly depends on the situation that got you into this mess AND the guy that's in the white house. So, if you had your house forclosed due to outrageously high mortgage payments or interest due to loans, the government should step in BUT since Americans have surprisingly short attention spans, they usually don't bother to notice after the story's come and gone. And THEN there's the guy in the white house. Would you think that someone that didn't give a crap about rebuilding New Orleans would give a crap about the next person that's out on his a*s because the bank wrongfully forclosed on them? OF COURSE NOT! This is why we're in this economic bungle: People are taking out loans and NOT paying them, people are saps because they got outrageously low mortgage payments just before the spike (And their prices went up, too) because the commercials say just how much they could "save", we're still struggling to rebuild New Orleans after TWO YEARS, and we're still IN A WAR THAT DIDN'T NEED TO BE WAGED!

So as you see, the government currently has its hands PRETTY full. Hopefully we won't have anymore Bush's any time in the future to fill in the gigantic, empty presidential shoes. I hope that helps.
