Does anyone know where you can obtain free information about foreclosures without signing up for anything?

Question:
Hi,
I live in Pittsburgh, PA (not sure if that matters), and was wondering where I could find free information on home foreclosure listings without giving these websites all of my information including credit card numbers. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Answer:
It's public info, those companies just compile it and resell it. How much time are you willing to spend down at the county courthouse?

Related note - I'm no real estate expert but know a few and they do expect a big jump in foreclosures in the next few months in many markets. But they also say the best deals are -pre-foreclosure. Depends on your time/money constraints and goals - invest or just get a good deal on your house. If you want to invest as a business, simply put up cheap ads in high-traffic areas, in the neighborhoods you like, saying "Worried about foreclosure? I can help, call xxx-xxxx" Then when they call you screen to see if you're interested in the property, and make an offer.
If you look in the legal notice section of your local newspaper, you will normally find listing in there but they aren't going to be called "foreclosures", they'll just be listed as an "aquisition" or transfer from an individual to a bank or other lending institution.

You could also go down to your courthouse and run the names of the major banks in your area and you'd see all the people they filed "executive process" suits again. This is legal code for foreclosure.
Hiya Neighbor...

Go to your local bank. They have loan departments and they will sometimes put you on a list if you request it, that when a loan is defaulted, or it comes up to bid for public auction, you may be informed

You can look in the News Paper, for sherriff auctions (sales), and attend them..(It can be cheaper to buy that way, or it can be a nightmare, depending on how careful you are and how much time you put into investigating if there are any back taxes or liens against the property).

I would NEVER put my credit card on line for anyone to steal..(Unless I was buying something from some one, and they needed it, and I was SURE of the place I was buying it from, no phishing (crooks trying to immitate a web site, for the purpose of stealing your credit card and info).

I wish you well..
