Where can I find listings of local houses undergoing foreclosure for free without paying a service fee?
Question:
Answer:
Yes, it's just not easy... actually it's easy, it just take time, so this companies do the work for you and charge for it.
You can do it too!
I don't know how it is in other states, I'm a realtor in Raleigh, NC and here every forclosure has to be posted at the courhouse and published in the newspaper. Ever read the boring part of the classifieds in your local paper, the "Legals" section? That's where they go.
If you are _really_ interested in foreclosures, go to your county courthouse and look at the bulletin board (literally a cork board with pinned notes in it) there you will find the foreclosures.
Or, you can talk to your favorite realtor (like me :-) in NC) I know of many even before the banks (people call me before the bank starts foreclosing on them)
If you are going to work with a [good] realtor, you have to be serious though. If I had a penny for every person that calls me that wants to buy foreclosures to fix and re-sell but has no money, no credit, and never even changed a light bulb...

Visit your town tax assessor.
There is a Free Web site, no problem, go to
http://www.hud.gov/utilities/intercept.c...
You will have to explore this site a bit and get to understand how it works, but you can find homes in any area of the USA, it does not howerver include non HUD or VA homes, that a bank might have. Look in the Newspaper for Auctions, in your area, they have to post them -
