Deposit returned to renter ,even after house goes into foreclosure...?

Question:
I am a renter who paid a deposit of $2500.Since moving in the house in 02/04,the house has been sold 2 more times .Now I have been informed that the house will be auctioned off in less than 2 weeks and cannot contact the out-of-state owner. Is there any way I can get my deposit back and do I have any rights as far as staying in the home until I can find another? HELP!

Answer:
You should get your money back, but the question is From Whom? You need an attorney.
Register a lien on the house with the real estate association in your county , city or municipality. It has to be in writing. They will have forms. And go to a lawyer. Right away.
contact a lawyer to assist you in this matter...
if the home was sold illegally - you will get that and much more in return.
