If you want completely free information about foreclosures, you basically have two choices (all the others are trial periods, but these two are completely free):

Both of these sites consolidate from multiple sources (including HUD). UShud has more listings, but I have found that many of them are outdated and sold several months ago. Emailforeclosures claims to update multiple times per day and has pictures and maps for most properties.
http://www.hud.gov is a good place to start.
Are you looking to purchase foreclosed properties? Or do you want information on forecloser itself?
It takes time to gather this information and put it on sites and lists to send to people who pay for them. By then, some of them (the good ones) are sold.
If you want to buy a house, and get a good deal, get a Realtor to work on your behalf. Be TOTALLY honest with him and give him all the information needed to do the best possible job for you. (would you go to a doctor and NOT tell him all your symptoms, then be upset that he didn't help you?) You need a Realtor to bid on these houses anyhow...
If you're just curious about foreclosures, then get your credit card out. Those sites cost, and you won't be buying a house.
Contact you're local banks. They will want to get rid of the foreclosure plus they might even be able to do the financing for you.
Contact your local municipality, usually the assessor's office. They keep records on all the properties in the municipality including a list of foreclosed upon properties. They can at least tell you when it was foreclosed, and which bank to contact regarding the foreclosure. From there you are on your own! :-)
Teran is correct. Because I deal with foreclosures, I get a lot of referrals from people looking to buy foreclosures because they believe that because a property is in foreclosure or is a foreclosure, it automatically means the home is a great value.
Just talk to a real estate agent that is knowledgeable about foreclosures and short sales and tell them what you're looking for and let them know that you're not afraid to get your hands dirty. In my area, I can find great deals that are not in foreclosure.
