Most all foreclosures are listed by real estate offices before they sell. Since the sellers/bank pay the commission you are charged nothing for accessing the foreclosures through real estate agents and specialize in this market sector. This is the surest way to get current listings. Get on an email list with a local realtor. They will start emailing you everything out there in your area and price range.
Check the local newspaper under announcements. Properties that have a published notice of foreclosure are listed there with a phone number to call. But that is a needle in a haystack as many of the property owners are going to pay their payments current. You won't know that until you've already spent your time on it.
Oh man. I wouldn't try public records if I were you. What a pain. Plus you only get the legal description.
