Question:
Answer:
Leave your work at the door as you leave and do not bring it home either physically or mentally.
find a job that works ten hour days or 12 hour days so you get 3 or 4 days off a week.
Exercise, good for your mind, body, and mental health.
I have found that it is seldom that a single day is perfectly balanced. What has worked for me is to give full attention/focus to the most important issues at hand and, over the week, it does tend to balance it out. I give work my full focus on some days (meaning a 10-11 hr work day), and then later in the week I may work 5-6 hours when things have calmed down, and devote the rest of the day to self and family.
I try, try, try to not bring work home (either physically or emotionally) at to leave it behind when I leave the office...I'm not always successful, but is remains a goal.
Use the important/urgent evaluation of your to do list. Then allocate your time and energy according to the weight you give them in terms of urgency and importance. If a lot of unimportant things are urgent, you are probably trying to do too many trivial things. Must always see that our important items get reached before they beome urgent. Otherwise we are wasting our time on silliness.
