there's no such thing as a non profit cccs company. they all make profits, how else would they stay in business. they're mostly all scams. i work in the credit industry and hear all the time from people who paid cccs companies, and the companies never paid the creditors. you'd be better off contacting each creditor and trying to make arrangements thru them. most of them will work with you.
Depends on the company. Some charge a nominal fee to deal with the creditors, get you a lower or eliminate interest charges, etc. They can give you peace of mind from those calls from creditors demanding payment. Bankrupcy eliminates the debts, but forget getting credit for at least seven years. However, there will be offers sent to you by certain companies to help you get credit but be careful, these offers usually has hidden charges and end up hurting your pocketbook or wallet even more.
