Would it be impossible for me to become a cake maker (pastry chef) if I am physically disabled?

Question:

Answer:
Sadly it will depend on your disability. If you have little or no dexterity in your hands, or indeed no hands, then it would be a problem.

If you are in a wheelchair, then no it will not stop you, but it will make it considorably harder. Access to colleges for example, not all kitchens are easy to adapt. In the UK facilities only have to make changes that are reasonable, so adding a ramp is considered reasonable, but they would not be expected to rip out a kitchen to make the area suitable.

Also, whatever the law says, unless you are planning to work from home/self employed, you may have the same issues when looking for an employer.

I really do wish you luck. No one should be limited by a disability.
why would it? being disabled should not stop you from being anything you want.
anything is possible
YES! You can have anything in the world if you are willing to sacrifice everything else for it. If you are determined and motivated, you can move mountains..Good Luck

No. If you have a positive mental attitude and are very hands-on, then I would say to you: Go for it. Disability is hardly ever a bar to anything these days, so I think you've got a really good chance. By the way, if you do land a job, please let me know. I'd love to test your cooking. :)
if thats what you want to do, follow your dreams!
