Question:
well you see i have to write a 10pg essay on becoming a pastry chef. and one page has to be about the earning/and the benefits and also what insurance they have so if some1 can please help me out because if i do not do this report i can not graduate so please help me out

Answer:
Look on the webpage for the New England Culinary Institute. They have a Pastry Chef program.

Benefits and earnings depend on the employer. If you are a chef with the Ritz Carleton chain, you will have great perks and can travel to the different locations throughout the world. Even if you are the cake decorator at the local supermarket, you will get benefits usually. Earnings will depend on where you are working and who you are working for. For instance, working at the Ritz in Chicago is going to pay more than working at a tiny one bakery outlet in Des Moines.
Try salary.com. You can search by job, and you can narrow the information by specific city or location. It includes information on benefits and the full bell curve of income for just about any job. There is a section on each job where you can personalize it and find out what your take home pay would be after federal and state taxes (if you have them in your state).
The following search page has several listings with information on job prospects, salary ranges, requirements etc. for pastry chefs. The 4th, 5th and 6th listing on the page give the most detailed information.

Talk about vague details...actually though not many "dives" have pastry chefs so you can assume he or she is working at a well established restaurant or a hotel. It is a career job that requires training and experience and is a full time position. Therefore he will get benefits like health insurance for his whole family and maybe even a house or apartment if he is top level and had to travel from hotel to hotel as he climbs his way up. Maybe he has Executive Chef or Food and Beverage director as his goal but as pastry chef I am guessing at least $65,000 up to $100,000+ if he is featured.
