Is being a pastry chef hard?

Question:
im going to be in college to become a chef soon and I want to know the pro's and con's and if its going to be extremely hard

Answer:
My mother worked as a pastry chef. It seemed like a lot of long hours and hard work on your feet all day. There's also competition in the kitchen between the other "chefs": head check, sous chef, etc. I would recommend that you go to a couple nice places that have pastry chefs and ask them about their daily responsibilities (hours per day, per week) and opportunities for advancement.
very.
