as I've mentioned in other questions, one of my trading mentors used to start his intro seminars with the factoid that 49 of 50 new traders will leave the markets within 2 years after having lost some, all, or more than all of their capital.
so first, you learn about trading in general. and that starts with learning about yourself and how your decisions and psychology affect your trading.
