I agree with the first answerer, and have a bad experience to share.
My identity was stolen, sort of, by a person with my same name, and in my same state, to be used at a walk-in cash advance/payday loan franchise. Somehow, they got my home address and telephone (by searching for their own name, I guess!), and obtained a payday loan. I received a "courtesy reminder call" the day before the payment was due, and together with the franchise ascertained that someone had fraudulently obtained money in this way. They did not have my birthday nor Social Security number, and apparently used their own or some other fraudluent employment information, and I was not held responsible. However, my warning to you is, if it was that easy for security issues to arise when they had to appear in person, provide wage documentation, be photographed, etc., I would be very concerned at how easy problems could arise over the internet with a similar service. My husband had a similar issue with someone taking money from his bank account, by opening a false PayPal account and making a money transfer from it, so please be careful!
I haven't but I checked some of them out to find out what they had to have. I would be very reluctant to turn that kind of personal information over to someone that I could not see or did not know anything about.
I am the regional manager of a cash advance company but not online.
